Base History Of Henry Ford:
Henry Ford was born on July 13th,
1863 in a small town in Dearborn, Michigan. He is the son of William and Mary
Ford- who are known as Irish immigrants. Ford left home at the age of 16 to
Detroit in search of work. Eventually he returned home and found a part time
job at Westinghouse Engine Company. In 1888, Ford met and fell in love with
Clara Bryant and was soon to be married. Once married, they moved to Detroit
and was made Chief Engineer of Detroit Edison Company, where he invented the
“Quadricycle” and other race cars that he too was able to drive. In
1903 he had finally come up with a car design that could be built –
but it didn’t stop there, to further he inventions he invented the assembly
line and paid his workers “minimum wage” of $5.00 a day, increasing production.
Because of this increase in production, there were more Model T’s seen on the
road. They became so popular that everyone had to own one, and although it may
seem great, it made it easy for other car companies like General Motors to come
in and outdate the Model T. Because of General Motors 40,000 people were laid
off, but Ford came out with a new car, the Model A, which once again brought
business and production booming into the Ford franchise. In later years,
General Motors and Chrysler both signed contracts to the United Automobile
Workers (UAW), and at first Ford wanted nothing to due with them, but after
years of constant asking, Ford gave in and signed with UAW. Unfortunately Ford
passed away in his home in Dearborn, Michigan in April 7th, 1947 at
the age of 84. The franchise was given to his second son Henry Ford II, and is
still running today.

History of the Model T:
Before Henry Ford
could mass produce the Model T on an assembly line, the car was selling for $950 dollars. In 1912, Henry Ford lowered the
price to only $475 dollars for his Model T. This price was more affordable back then to the
lower income families. There were also various body types of the Model T. Also, all of Ford's cars came fully equipped with all the
necessary driving instruments of the time period. The Model- T was very rugged, it had to withstand all road types including off-road.
